This was just delicious. I smack my lips thinking back over what I've just read. Just lovely.
I am so happy Kleypas was able to keep the spark of Cat and Leo's relationship alive even as they fell into divine and rapturous love. They continue to bait each other, evolving beautifully into a sort of comedy duo rather than sparring partners.
Not that it doesn't have angst. Oh, there's angst aplenty here. We all knew Leo had some problems, and Cat's difficult past has been teased heavily as well. Kle ...more

Let me get this straight…this was a wonderful read! Ok now that I’ve said it, I can elaborate. I started reading Lisa Kleypas historical romances only very recently, about 6 months ago, and now I am truly addicted. Married By Morning is the 4th book in the Hathaway series which follows the life of the Hathaway siblings. This is Leo’s story and oh boy how excited I was to read his book.

Although I enjoyed this book, it was entirely too long and drawn out. I think I would have had more tolerance and patience if I had begun with the first of the series instead of beginning with this one. I did not realize it was a part of a series until I began thinking that the stories of the sisters in this book would have been interesting (duh). If you are going to read this story, I highly recommend reading the others first, then maybe you'd have more patience with the pace of this one. TTFN-

I've actually read the book before, and I enjoyed it, but listening to this book was so much better. The narrator did a good job with the British accent and portraying the characters, even the male ones. That was enough for me. The love scenes seemed strange at first to hear out loud, but after the first one, I got used to it and they were also great. I must have read too swiftly through these scenes the first time, because this time I got to savor them.

Loved Leo's book. I truly love how their love grew. Leo, who was horrible in the first book, turned into a very very likable gentleman.

I'm not sure why this book didn't really work for me. It was written well enough, but I just never connected with the characters. It was okay as a bag of chips sort of historical romance, but it lacked the emotion and character focus I crave lately. /shrug

Witty and amusing, the bickering pairs relationship is smoothly steered into romance territory, possibly a little too quickly for this reader to follow, given their animosity in previous books. Still a good read.
