Well, I didn't love it. Ms. James strayed away from the whimsical, romantic feel of fairy tale that I expected after reading the first in this series. This was much darker. Of course, I know that Beauty and the Beast is a far cry from Cinderella. But this book was just a bit odd to me.

As a fan of the series, it was fun to see Dr. House transported through time although in my opinion Dr. House is a lot more caustic and sarcastic but Piers isn't far off. My favourite part was the interaction between Linnet and Piers, both witty and intelligent producing some really good dialogue. The reason for the high rating is the fact that it got to me emotionally, there we
