So apparently I'm like 9 years late to the game in reading this one. Thank you coronavirus for giving me the extra time to catch up on some reading this year.

Picking up this book a few days ago, I had no idea what to expect beyond a college new adult romance. Now that I'm finished and took a moment to read some of the reviews, this book seems to elicit some strong love/hate feelings from folks.

Not going to lie, I enjoyed this one with only a few minor grievances for which I deducted a star:

I read this one way back in 2011 and couldn't finish because of all the badly executed soap operish story threads that were pretty random. I remember it being entertaining for a while, but the writing was pretty juvenile and I couldn't take the worldbuilding or characters seriously. The ML also came across as more whiny/unstable rather than hot, manly, and powerful.

I remember the final straw being the club scene where the FL and her friends were dancing while the ML and his friend acted like gua ...more
