The first book I read in the series

The Last Hellion (Scoundrels, #4) by Loretta Chase

is actually the 4th book in the series and Lord of Scoundrels is the 3rd. I was not thrilled with The Last Hellion so I almost didn't pick this one up to read afterward. After conferring with GR, I decided to give it a try. This is a much better story and romance than the other book. I liked the characters and it was a good read. I know that this is a favorite among many romance readers but this just was just ok for me. I feel like the story was really very disjointed and not enough cohesion for me. There were to many different conflicts through the story all to easily overcome. I felt like there was no real build up of tension over any one conflict for me to feel great relief at its resolution. I love Jessica, thought she was just wonderful but other than that I cant think of anything I really enjoyed about this book. T ...more
