QUICK NOTES:

♦ I loved the heroine! She went on my favorite heroine shelf. She takes no bull but has the patience and perseverance to be amazing.

♦ Sebastian was great as well but good grief was he stubborn and pessimistic. However, he's also an unforgettable character and the slow, steady fall he does for Jessica is what romance is all about.

*re-read* Still didn't love it.

I've read on a ton of book blogs and review sites how this is the BEST book. Seriously? I think part of the problem is that I dont particularly like historical romance yet I keep reading them based on recommendations. But this one did not work for me.

I did however LOVE the heroine. She was awesome. Sharp-witted and viper tongue! Love it! ...more

Damn I need this book in a bad way. What does a girl have to do to get the paperback published in 1995? Oh well… I guess I’ll have to settle for the 2008 release. Shame on Amazon for letting me down, but I’m willing to overlook this incident if my copy of Lover Mine ships a few weeks early.

The only thing I knew about Lord of Scoundrels when I cracked the cover is that it's a favourite for many romance readers. It has taken the top spot on the AAR reader-voted top 100 poll since 2000, so I expected it to be good - and it was.

What I didn't expect, was that it would be funny - and it was, delightfully so. The humor was simple, smooth, effortless - and genuinely funny. I never got the sense that the author was trying hard to get a laugh, and so it worked beautifully.
