I’m not really sure what to think of A Hunger Like No Other. I did end up enjoying it, but as I ponder how to review and rate it, it seems I can only summon criticism rather than praise.

Firstly, the plot was very reminiscent of that in The Warlord Wants Forever. The theme seems to be that the [insert paranormal species here] hero discovers that his predestined mate is a [insert different paranormal species here], a traditional and fundamental enemy of his kind.

I think that I am one of the few people that haven’t read this series. I decided that this year I would give it a try to see what all the fuss is about. I started out with the short stories, but they didn’t give me a feel, so it was on to the first full length book.

For me this one was just ok. I feel like the world the series is set in wasn’t explained well. I wanted to know why all the groups hated each other, it would make the mixed relationship tensions more understandable.

I had read KC's historicals and really liked them. Since alot of my friends had read this one, thought I would give it a try. Loved it! I liked Emma and loved it that she just didn't roll over and strip her clothes off for Lachlain, that he had to work for her love. I also loved the unexpected humor that was woven throughout the book. Especially Emma's badassness...too funny! Even more delicious is I have 12 more to go in the series. WIN!! ...more

I have re-read this one a few times...but totally forgot how beastly Lochlain can be!
What happens when a beast-man (less man that ever after 150 years of torture at the hands of vampires) scents the one he has searched to find for a millennia???
Good times is what you get!
