They only made it to an empty hall before he pressed her against the wall, cupped her neck, and demanded once again, “You’ll stay with me?” “Always.”

A HUNGER LIKE NO OTHER was a big surprise, because under that horrible cover and title there is something amazing inside this book. A beautifully written story that I came to absolutely love. I guess I should always remind myself not to judge a book by its cover.

I really enjoyed the prequel to this series and this book did not disappoint. However I'm not giving it a 5 star rating because there was too much old mentality male being a brute and wanting to force himself and his will (among other things) on sweet Emma.

Lachlain is a hot lykae, he's been imprisoned by vampires for a century and a half until he smells his mate and escapes hell to go find her. Emma is half valkyrie, half vampire, very sweet, tender and innocent. He takes her by surprise, kidnap I really enjoyed the prequel to this series and this book did not disappoint. However I'm not giving it a 5 star rating because there was too much old mentality male being a brute and wanting to force himself and his will (among other things) on sweet Emma.

Emma is half valkyrie, half vampire, very sweet, tender and innocent. He takes her by surprise, kidnaps her, after realizing she is his mate, but he doesn't tell her this. He is now behind on the way of living and technology, language, etc, which is kinda cute to see him work through and he does extremely well and fast.

I was not comfortable with him almost forcing himself on her physically, specially with her being a virgin. It felt almost as if he had no care for her feelings at times in the way he acted and spoke. "I am man, you are woman. You do as I say and that's it!" Emma and Lachlain's chemistry however is always there.

Emma does grow into her own skin by being away from the protective folds of the valkyrie family. They've always babied her and she is now, for the first time experiencing life on her own, protecting herself, making her own choices. And she is faced with a harsh truth from her past while searching for her vampire father. Destiny has given her a hard task and she executes it well, even though if helped a bit by luck.

We meet a new character which I now like, Bowen. I do hope he gets his happy ending, after so much suffering. His character is funny, along with all the fun comments and moments with the valkyrie! I can't wait to read the developing story between Lucia and Garreth! He is smitten, and I'm sure their book will be pretty hot.

We still get to see all the characters as they are always involved. The valkyrie seem to keep marrying the wrong kind according to their standards. The vampires are now at war with the valkyrie all over the world. Ivo is hunting someone and they have to figure out who it is.

For the most part in this book there wasn't a lot of action, it came in spurs, and then we were sitting again while Emma was kidnapped and traveling and experiencing a lot of sexual tension. But I would definitely recommend this series. It's light, fun and sexy. ...more

Lachlain was a dominant, controlling hero whereas Emma was yet another shy and timid heroine (Umm...at the beginning at least.) And as I said before, I’m a huge fan of dominant heroes. So, if other Immortals after Dark’s leading men are anything like him or Wroth, I'll gladly read every book from this series.

Why did I give it 4 stars? While first chapters were hot, interesting and quite exciting, most scenes after page 150+ were somehow…slow-moving. Only when−SPOILERS−she and that vampire traced ...more
