Hmmm...I love Nalini Singh's books but this one was not one of my favorites. Perhaps it was the long break I took between books, or maybe I just didn't like the hero/heroine combination, I'm really not sure. This book just didn't wow me like some of the other books in this series. No worries, I'll most likely continue reading these because they have been quite addictive up to this point.

Maybe I went into it with too many negative thoughts, there were no shifters as love interests this time around. But I don't think that's it. There was no fire between Dev and Katya. The whole I'm-stuck-in-the-Net-don't-trust-me stick has been done, but now add the twist of Katya being brainwashed by Ming turning her into a walking weapon. One designed to kill Dev. I didn't enjoy this as much as the other books in this series. I don't know if it was because the hero and heroine didn't really appeal to me or if it was the lack of changeling pack members. The whole book was mainly Dev and Katya. Whereas with previous installments although the books focused on the main couple of that book. They spent time with other people. Dev and Katya was very isolated throughout the book.
