★★★★★ and a Wow! Just loved this book, and I’m not big into shapeshifter books. Sure, there are flaws, but they are beautiful too. Bought the audiobook so I could do a re-read via my ears right after reading with my eyes. I haven't read the same book back-to-back in forever. This treasure has a heroine, Sascha, who is
wonderful
and the hero, Lucas, is H.O.T. This story has a deeper message than I was expecting and characters who are well developed. The world Ms. Singh has created is not only

This would be my very first Nalini Singh book and honestly, it's surprising that I even waited this long to read her. I like her style. But I did think the psy-changeling premise was a little...lame. Then again, I always feel a little absurd reading about a hero that becomes a cat or some type of animal (other than werewolves, I accept them wholeheartedly). Somehow, that did nothing to take away from my enjoyment of this book.

★★★★★ Angela Dawe does an excellent job of narrating this one. Even better the second time round. If one has to run errands, this is something wonderful to hear told to you.

Singh does a fantastic job of creating her world and drawing you into it. The futuristic world of changlings (better known as "were" peoples) and psy (those with esp abilities) that Singh has created flows so well, I could not find a single flaw in her world building. (Something some paranormal authors have a problem doing.)
Sascha, the heroine, is Psy- a race of humans who years back decided the Vulcans had it right (hee- I couldn't resist) and eliminated all emotions from their psyches.

What a great books. Ms. Singh is a NTM author and won't be my last. I am a late comer to the Singh party, so I won't go over again what has been said many times. I liked the premise of the story and really liked Sasha and Lucas together. I am eager to go get the next story in the series. Thanks for all the recommends of this books.

I'm surprised that so many people liked this one. I was looking at the ratings and this seemed to be loved by many. This is my second novel that I've read by Nalini Singh and it won't be my last. I just really couldn't connect with this book.

Didn't love it. I didn't even finish it. Read all but last 50 pages and decided, who cares.
This book had it moments, loved the dream scenes and I liked Lucas as a hero, but it didn't move fast enough for me. ...more

This was an interesting book. I liked the premise and I found NS to be good writer. I enjoyed the interaction between the main characters. The only problem I had with the book was the anti-climatic ending with the antagonist. The kidnapping was a side story, however, it was what placed the tension in the story and made you on edge to see if something would happen to cause the heroine to crack. I expected a little more, I don't know, umph, for an ending in that regards, however, overall, it was a
