Thoughts:
It has been such a long time that I've read a book and at the end want to obsessively stroke the cover. This was one of those books, it pretty much had me going all Gollum after the last page turned. Considering this was a reread for me, even better.

This book has a quick wit and charm that is hard to find in urban fantasy novels. It's also extremely hard not to like the main character Cal, a half Auphe-half human hybrid who mostly sees himself as more monster then man. Always there to discourage that bleak view is his brother Niko, a strong periphreal character that shares a close bond with his brother. Again, something extremely hard to find, a true brotherly bond that transcends the bleak circumstances of their lives.

I liked this one. being a first novel it obviously has its flaws, but overall good and more gritty than most uf.
I will write about this later… too good for a simple review.
