I loved everything about this book, starting with the yummy cover! Oh boy, I could stare at Nathan Kamp's lips for a lifetime!... ;)
Now, focusing on the story itself... Once again, KMM gave us a more-than-wonderful hero (Drustan MacKeltar) but, this time, she gave us an amazing heroine (Gwen Cassidy) who, I admit, I loved better than the hero. And that's something, because I adored Drustan! Gwen was intelligent, funny, feisty and determined; Drustan didn't really stand a chance with her. When sh ...more

Another tale in Moning's Highlander series, this one reads like a Scottish sleeping beauty from the male perspective. Drustran MacKeltar is a 16th century highlander laid out by a gypsy spell in a trance until a modern woman accidentally falls upon him and wakes him up. What follows is trademark Moning - braw man, wee woman, humorous repartee between the two - if you don't like Moning by now, then you shouldn't have gotten to book 4 in the series. As for myself, quite enjoyable, as always.

Well I tried. Still no likey. Over the years I've become immune to mushy romances where the hero gushes about the heroine's beauty and how much he loves her. Been there, done that. I need my heroes bad, broken, & tormented TYVM (I blame Anne Stuart). Also, call me crazy but the time travel/modern-woman-in-the-medieval-era aspect doesn't interest me at all. Gasp! Shock!

Talk about a bad dream! Drustan went to sleep in 16th century Scotland and woke up 500 years later - but with a scantily-clad female draped over him, so how bad could it be?! Gwen, who's on vacation in Scotland and has inadvertently awakened the sleeping hunk, is a well-educated, intelligent woman who knows that time-travel is impossible and therefore wonders what to do with this gorgeous delusional man - until he kisses her, and then what can a smart gal do but humor him?! Once she's back in th

I wanted so much more for this story, but I was pleasantly surprised nontheless. Some of the romance parts and storyline were a bit cliche, but the background on the MacKeltars really made the book for me. I enjoyed reading about how they became the protectors of the lore, and what the MacKeltars are and how they came to be (I read the Fever series first). Also enjoyed seeing Christian show up in the story as a little boy... looking forward to Daegus' story...

I love this series. It is true you don't have to read them in order but it does help.
this story keeps you going from the time you pick it up till you put it down. I was actually sad when it ended. this is a must read for all.
