Is it possible that this series just gets better and better? And each story is completely different, original and manages to bring you into the wonderful world of the Wallflowers.
I'll admit I went into reading this book disliking Sebastian. Not for his womanizing ways, but for what he did at the end of It Happened One Autumn. I loved him throughout that book and then my little fantasy fell. So it took me a little while to warm up to him, even though I thought the story in this book was excellent ...more

I'd heard a lot about this book and wanted to read it. I ended up getting the audiobook (much more expensive!) and listening to it while commuting to and from the office. It was a thoroughly enjoyable story, with a rake in need of reform and a strong-willed but innocent heroine.
Evie is heiress to a fortune. Her father owns a gaming club and is dying of consumption, but Evie's mother's family (her mother is dead) won't let her see him. They have designs on her soon-to-be-inherited fortune and wan ...more

So here is the deal.....Lisa Kleypas is without question my favorite author, and Devil in Winter just became my favorite of her books (previously it was Dreaming of You!) This book is magic. It is darned near perfect, and I will try to not gush my way through this review.
The hero of this book was the villain in It Happened One Autumn. I despised him and wondered how Lisa would ever be able to change my mind and allow my heart to soften towards him. She did it. Sebastian St. Vincent is now my ne ...more

This is a very good tale which begins with an innocent, mistreated heiress asking a jaded womanizing fortune hunter for rescue. Why is she in such a hurry? She is a stuttering wallflower who wants to join her father in his dying days, and whose mother's family won't let her do so; they are about to force her into marriage with her horrid cousin. Why is he in such a hurry? His father is throwing away the last of the family fortunes with both hands, the bill collectors are closing in, and he's jus

Wow. Just, wow. How on earth have I lived without having read this before? Lisa Kleypas, you have earned a place as one of my favorite authors of all time. The Wallflowers just keep getting better and better and better and...well, you get the point.
