I love Georgina as the heroine of this series. She's modern and yet is centuries old. She's mostly practical but still manages to be selfish. Her relationship with Seth amuses me. I can't help but think that their relationship is living on borrowed time. But their love for each other is evident. I like the complexities of it. Georgina is an awesome character; I absolutely love her to bits! I was happy to see that Seth didn't get scared off by her succubus nature because they make an adorable couple. Which is weird seeing how they can't be intimate but then again, when the physical aspect of a relationship is not an option the emotional side has to compensate. This story is about the Succubus Georgina Kincaid, a shape-shifting demon who seduces men and feeds on their life energy. Georgina may be a demon, but she lives like a mortal. In the present, Georgina is drawn to a shy, sexy, and gifted writer, Seth Mortensen. When he witnesses an immortal battle, her demon boss Jerome threatens to wipe is memories. The thought of losing Seth is too much to bare and Georgina makes another deal with the devil; a century of seducing good souls for keeping Seth’s memory intact. Now, she’s falling for a mortal she can never make love to, while having to have sex with numerous random strangers.

This story begins with Georgina receiving an award for excellence in her field. Yes, she’s excelling in her demon work and happily dating her mortal boyfriend, Seth Mortensen. A succubus who can’t have sex with her boyfriend is ludicrous to her demon friends and her relationship takes the brunt of their jokes. Only Archangel Carter understands how she feels, until the return of her old friend Bastien. Bastien is an incubus, the male equivalent to Georgina. Bastien is charismatic and the awe of Cody, Peter, and Hugh. Bastien is in town to seduce a conservative radio talk show host who’s also a prominent advocate for family values. Dana preaches bigoted, homophobic bullcrap, while hiding behind the screen of morals. Georgina is reluctant to help at first, but dives in head first when she discovers that seducing this well-known figure would get Bastien out of trouble with his demon supervisor. Meanwhile, Georgina is struggling with controlling her urges for Seth. Just one kiss could take years off his mortal life. At the bookstore, Georgina notices that Doug’s behaviour has turned erratic and in some cases offensive. After conferring with Seth, she believes Doug is doing drugs. Further investigation reveals the drummer is dealing a ‘drug’ that holds an immortal signature. She later discovers the drug is also known as the food of the gods, or ambrosia. When ingested, the ambrosia makes you feel unstoppable, taking you to your full potential. Unfortunately, you come down hard and the lows make you the worst possible image of yourself. Georgina seeks the help of Jerome and Carter who devise a plan to find the supplier. Dana isn’t falling for Bastien’s seduction and seems to have a suspicious interest in Georgina. Bastien tries to seduce Georgina by shape-shifting into Seth. She turns him down, but she gives in when Bastien removes Seth’s clothes. Immediately afterwards, she feels the guilt of betraying Seth’s trust. In a drunken fit of jealousy and anger, Bastien tells Seth about his night with Georgina. She tells Seth everything but before they can talk it through, they’re called to the hospital where Doug tried to commit suicide. When Seth mysteriously leaves the hospital, Georgina sets up the plan to meet the drug supplier. She’s given a trinket to kill the supplier and mask her immortal signature. When he tries to rape her, she plunges the arrowhead into his heart and banishes him. She then tells the drummer to leave the city and never contact Doug again. When she returns to the bookstore, she discovers that Seth left the hospital to find Doug’s sister. Georgina is longing to speak to Seth, but is pulled away by a double booking of authors at the bookstore. To solve this dilemma, she takes a dose of ambrosia which isn’t harmful to an immortal, and begins working on a LIT-FEST. The event is a huge hit and leads to her promotion to manager. While on the ambrosia, Georgina has a sudden realization as to while Bastien hasn’t been successful with Dana. Dana doesn’t want Bastien, she wants Georgina. Georgina seduces Dana and it’s all caught on tape. Bastien is back in the good graces of his supervisor, he apologizes to Georgina and returns home. The sex tape was plastered on the internet and she’s become the awe of her friends and the pride and glory of her archdemon boss. Seth re-invites Georgina to his Thanksgiving Day Birthday Party and they spend a happy but awkward day together. After the party, Seth tells Georgina that he forgives her. Seth gives her a love letter, well actually a sex letter, and Georgina returns the gift with twenty nude and provocative photos. Georgina finally tells Seth that she loves him. They retreat to her bedroom where she slowly undresses and then self-pleasures herself on the bed while he watches. Afterwards, she convinces a shy Seth to do the same. This way, they can be intimate without her sucking away his life energy. The story ends with Seth letting his guard down and pleasuring himself.

WOW, this was HOT! I can’t wait to read the rest of the series, but I’m so worried that Georgina will find a way to push Seth away. There has to be a way for Seth to become an immortal or for Georgina to become mortal. Carter’s interest in her relationship has to mean something...an angel wouldn’t just encourage a demon-mortal love if it didn’t have a chance. Well, I guess I have to keep reading to find out.
