Last Chance to See. It figures that my favourite Adams book would be his one nonfiction.
I think that's why it works as well as it does. It takes Adams' classic wit and spark and applies it to our universe. It doesn't make you go "Wow, that is a cool thing. I want to live in that world." but "Wow, that is a cool thing. Wait, I am already living in that world! Crap, I won't be living in that world for much longer."
