Pippi Longstocking was my favorite book as a child. Pippi was the little girl that I wanted to be: fearless, loud, strong, and completely unsupervised. What child wouldn't want to live in a big house by herself (well, with a pet monkey and horse)? She was outside of the control of the adults in her town (teachers, society ladies, policemen, burglars), whom she did not have to mind at all. While this might be kind of fun for children to read, for an adult it was almost painful to read about a little girl who seemed to be every child's hero, but was, in fact, every adult's nightmare. I have fond memories of Pippi Longstocking from my childhood ... but a re-reading in my old age wasn't as endearing.

Un altro libro per l'infanzia, che bello! Pippi Calzelunghe è l'amica ideale, vive sola Villa Villacolle, è la bambina più forte del mondo e soprattutto ha sempre mille idee strampalate e divertentissime da sottoporre ai suoi amici.
