I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. I think everyone should read it. The wonderful characters and the play on words....

I did not love this book. In fact, I was pretty much grateful to be finished with it. However, I do have a healthy respect for it: it is witty and clever and I imagine it would be quite thrilling for children with big vocabularies--they'd feel smart and learn something as an added plus!

I liked the idea of Milo's quest to bring back Reason and Rhyme. I liked the Demons in the Mountains of Ignorance. I liked the gentle chastisement of using too many meaningless words. I particularly liked that he

A fun read - kind of humorous that I am 30 years old the first time I read it! This one is going to be one to have on the kids bookshelves in a few years.

The back flap starts to describe the book "For Milo, everything's a bore.". I was wondering how applicable it would be in this world of kids getting smartphones and playing with iPads from a young age - I mean, that's the problem right? I really love the things that a children's book can do that adult books just can't get away with. All of the word play and the obvious life lessons are so clever and striking, I think I loved this even more as an adult who can truly appreciate all of the lessons. Such a fantastic book. ...more

Cute. I imagine I would've liked it even more if I was a fan of wordplay, but I've always been sort of offended by puns and the like. I don't know why! This book has a great message that's wrapped in a fun story, so it's a winner. I can't say I loved the characters as much as some readers seem to, but that might've had to do with the whole wordplay thing. And the, ahem, lack of females. ...more
