I love Holmes. The Hound is a lovely little novella perfect for a cozy evening with a cup of tea. Just eerie enough to raise the hairs on the back of the neck from time to time, and plenty of intrigue. No one is quite what they seem.

Shelves: re-read, mysteries, classics

I bought this shiny, gilt-edged Chiltern edition as a souvenir on a recent trip to the UK, from a bookstore in a barge on the Thames. I hadn't read Sherlocke Holmes since high school, but it held up well on re-reading. Holmes and Watson are still charismatic and engaging, lots of fun, and now I think I have to re-read the whole corpus of Sherlock Holmes mysteries. ...more
