Nothing like an ambiguous classic to get the analysis wheels turning. Ghosts? Psychotic break? Hmmm... I'll think on this a bit. Fun Victorian thriller with excessive punctuation.

So anyway...
That's kind of how I felt at the end of this book. It was certainly interesting and engaging. The suspense was great, and it kept me going the whole book. I couldn't wait to see what came next. But the whole book was really bizarre, too, and I'm still not sure that I understood any of it. My interpretation of the events, especially the ending, is probably way off base from what a lit professor would say.

Di sicuro non ricordavo che lo stile di Henry James fosse così intricato. A una struttura lessicale impegnativa si accompagna l'ambiguità di una narratrice decisamente inaffidabile. Questo breve romanzo è decisamente atmosferico e suggestivo, ma non aspettative un finale risolutivo.

Well written, and James' sentences are great -- though for some of them I believe I would have a tough time producing a grammatical structure diagram. Ghost stories aren't really my thing though.
