Wow! I can understand why this book won the Baileys Women's Prize for Fiction. In this story, gender roles are turn on their head. Whether men are the stronger sex or women, it makes no difference. There will always be power hungry people who seek to destroy others. It is when gender becomes irrelevant that we see who others truly are. While there are violent scenes in the story that can be difficult to read, the ending chapter is very thought provoking and eye-opening. The story also touches on
