Peter was really busy! So many, by now beloved characters come together, so many witty remarks and fun situations and they work so well together. A lot of things happen, but this time it's less all over the place, more linear. Aaronovitch avoids a foreseeable plot by letting many players join the game. This book is one my two favorites of the series.

This whole series is amazing! Usually, by the sixth book, I've lost interest or the books have become boring and predictable, not so with the Peter Grant series. I want more please!

Fertig und endlich kann ich jetzt ganz entspannt den nächsten Band lesen
This is - in my humble opinion - the best Peter Grant yet. It's as if everything is coming together just to pose more questions and keep me wondering. I can't get over Leslie's development. Good girl gone bad literally. I like it and I hate it. I want her to redeem herself. I want her to be working under cover without Peter's knowledge, like in the far, far future she'll catch the faceless man and go surprise, I've been wor ...more

I really love this series.
I can't really say to much, given this is the 6th book in the series, but it still is going in an awesome way. I love the world building in this series, they way Mr. Aaronovitch sets a scene, it feel like you're right there in the action with Peter and Nightingale.
What I liked about this one was the settle references to past books (and comics).
Great audiobook, do not think I could read these books without them. ...more

Another brilliant entry in this series which I enjoy more and more with each instalment. Can't wait for the next one.

The latest outing for apprentice wizard police constable Peter Grant. Thankfully we have returned to London, and the gorgeous descriptions of the capital's geography, culture, denizens and unseen comings and goings penned by screenwriter Ben Aaronovitch. The key elements of previous tales are all here - the bewildered hierarchy of the Met Police Force having to cope with magical goings-ons, the Folly, Inspector Nightingale, Molly the ghostly housekeeper, the "Faceless Man", and the turncoat, PC

In usual Ben Aaronovitch style, Peter Grant surprises and entertains with quality although I admit I wasn't LOLling as much in this one as in earlier books (resulting in less peculiar glances at me whilst driving alone!). The audiobook was up to its usual excellent quality - go for it, read it, you know you want to!!
