I quite enjoyed this one. Miss Marple is a joy to read when she’s actually in the book. I loved the change of setting too, though to be honest I don’t think you could really tell it was anywhere different than an English country house, besides Miss Marple complaining about the weather and the palm trees once or twice.
Great palate cleanser!

Another scarily fascinating mystery with Miss Marple as 'Nemesis.' Set on the island of St. Honore, Miss Marple is told a story of a murderer who got away. The next day, the teller of the tale is dead- apparently from natural causes. The plot thickens, though, when the COD-high blood pressure and too much alchohol- is invalidated by the fact that the victim did not have high blood pressure. Took a little time getting into it. 3rd POV throughout the book made it a little distant and not as intense as if spoken from, say, Molly's POV. But in the end, it was alright. The main reason, I see, for doing this, is to introduce so many red herrings that there is hardly any way for the reader to know the solution--unless one has already read her other book, "The Third Girl".
