The book title pretty much says it all. Quick essential read that craftily toes the line between widely applicable philosophies (i.e. stakeholder priorities are not necessarily good for UX, users often don't access sites from the home page) and specific technical tips (i.e. don't use small, low-contrast type, don't put labels inside form fields, bad taglines are generic, tabs are the best). Bonus points for "the unbearable lightness of browsing" reference. ...more

Best entry book for Usability there is. Must-read if you're at least somewhat serious about this topic. Also great if you're not primarily employed to do Usability testing, but want to find out the basics and where (and how) to start. ...more
