One of the best books of 2015!
Bravo Kristin!
This was my first Kristin Hannah and completely different than I expected. I do love books set in WWII especially from the perspective of living in a country other than the UK. This followed the lives of 2 sisters living in France and their stories as war rages through the country. Utterly heartbreaking in places, I had to put it down at least twice when reading in public. So compelling though - the scenes where Isabelle is trekking through the mountains had me holding my breath. Utterly lovely,

I've read several WWII novels in the past year, and this one was every bit as good as the rest. Heartbreaking and touching, The Nightingale will stay with me for quite some time.
