A GREAT murder mystery and my favorite Agatha Christie. Even though I knew the story and saw the movie long ago, I Loved every minute of it! Reading the book was so much better.
Note: Eating tinned tongue, Ewwwww!
Agatha Christie loved the idea of this book. Having ten people on an island, no one leaves the island and all ten die. It is a real puzzle, and it requires an epilogue to explain how it all takes place. All of the guests receive letters which entice them to visit the island. Then they realize that what they have in common is a taking of a life for which they were not punished. The host has decided to kill each one as punishment for the sin he has committed. What a delightfully thrilling mystery! I knew better than to read this while at the house by myself, and nearly before bed, at that, but it's too good to put down. This is my first full-length Christie tale, and while I'll have to pace myself or I'll end up scaring myself silly, I know I'll be reading more of them. It's a perfectly spun tale, just about impossible to solve (don't read the SparkNotes, it gives it away!) and has a morally questionable undertone sure to make anyone think long and h
