October 2022 -
You know a book is great when it’s accidentally become an annual reread. I always love coming back to this one in October. I snuck in a reread of Carrie last month, and this is such a huge step forward for just King’s second book. Horror is not my favorite or usual reading, but I really enjoy a great vampire story. In my opinion, the vampires in this story are secondary. They are nasty and bad. They are the old-fashioned, garlic and cross fearing...sleep in the day/kill in the night monsters. Stephen King however, can take these creatures and have them show up on a neighbors por

3.5 - First read this about 35 years ago. It wasn't as much fun the second time around.
