That was fun! There were parts that were questionable but a great adventure from start to finish.

OK, so Mark Watney finds himself stuck alone on Mars after his crew had to leave him behind. How unlucky!
Luckily for him, he's a resourceful engineer and an optimistic guy.

I can summarize my thoughts about the book in one line - it has the brains but lacks a heart!
It precisely sums up my thoughts about the book in a very concise way.

Well, I thoroughly enjoyed that! Such a great story, such a great main character, such a great supporting cast and so much geeky science! And comedy! I laughed out loud and chuckled and got teary eyed... phew. Ah, but now it's over. Oh, well. ...more

Great premise, plot and tension, setting, tone and humor. The characters were wanting in depth (you know, backstory really does affect front story, in a good story), but that’s to be expected with a large cast, an intricate plot and an extremely detailed setting. The humor made up, in part, for the lack of character development.

Content: A Jehovah's Witness friend of mine said that the profanity is a bit much on audio, so I read the hard copy and didn't find it bad at all.

Overall: A lot of fun! ...more
