Much better than the last few installments. We had some progression, thimgs actually happened, and no one I'm emotionally attached to died. One aspect of the series that really endears it to me are all the little details that get carried from book to book: Sookie's love of sunbathing, her gravel driveway, the word of the day calendar. And, there's Eric :)

I liked this one a lot. I don't know if it's because I've had to wait for this one or not, but I enjoyed getting back to these characters. I know for sure that I liked this more because it was mostly focused on the vamps. The first few and then #6 were my favorites...I started to lose interest when she kept bringing in new characters and straying from the vamps. This book had all my favorites...Bill, Eric and Pam and while lots of other characters were involved, it still focused mostly on Sookie
