Hmmm so I finally read this. It is quite violent at times and has quite a bit of sex / casual attitudes about sex, neither of which I liked, especially in an ostensibly Young Adult novel. I have read several retellings of Beauty and the Beast and this was the weirdest in that the "beast" was more of a beautiful David Bowie type...? Don't get me wrong, it's a fun style, but just a different trope than I expected... More Howl's Moving Castle than Beauty and the Beast. Also the main character.. it'

Was this a great American novel? No. The plotting was weird, the character development is seriously lacking. Thinking back on it now, I'm actually confused and frustrated about SO much. However, was this an enjoyable, quick, fun read? Yes... Will I finish the remainder of the series? Also yes.

After reading THE CRUEL PRINCE earlier this year, I decided that it was time to jump into a longer series, and take a journey with the Fae. I figured since ACOTAR was so beloved, it would be a great starting point; and with the 4th book releasing soon, it would give incentive to binge the series.
