Oh how I loved this book! I loved the writing, the characters and how funny and wonderful they are!
The story had humor and love and pain throughout and I hoped for a happy ending and wasn’t disappointed! I found myself dragging this out as I didn’t want it to end! What a heart warming book!

I really enjoyed this one - especially on audio as the narration does a great job of giving each character a voice. I think this would be a great listen with your (older) kids too!
A story of a man, and an island of orphaned children. It’s heartwarming, a little silly, and beautifully written.

I listened to the audio version and the narrator was very good. There are many characters and he managed to have distinct voices for all of them. It is a magical book about love and kindness, and whimsical children that are very special. The whole time I listened I could envision a good movie for all ages until the end. It had events that may be socially controversial for some and for young readers.
