I wish the world was more complex with a closing ending, rather than leaving it open ended.

Excellent read. Dystopian fiction isn't a genre that I've visited much before, so I don't want my five star rating to be misleading. However, the premise of a pandemic with a 99.9% fatality rate called the Georgia flu (I.e. Swine flu) gave me a collegiate flashback to standing in line for my flu shot at the student health
center in 1975-76 or so. What if? Goodread.

I’m obsessed with this book.

I have so many feelings I don’t have words for.

I really enjoyed this. It was cool that it was set in Michigan. I loved the unveiling of the connections between people and objects. I think this could have been a much longer book. There were a lot of characters being followed and it certainly could've elaborated more on the fate of a few of them. ...more

I almost pulled the trigger on 5 stars for this one. I thought it was extremely well done. I wanted to hurry to the end, but at the same time I didn't want the book to be over; that's such a delicious sensation. I don't always like the 'disparate story lines that all weave together at the end' type of plot because they often feel too contrived, but this one was seamless. The characters all seemed very real, and their relationships believable. Post-apocalypse stories are kind of overdone lately, ...more
