What Members Thought

After watching the movie about the author I decided to finish the book, Salinger really wanted the reader to hate the sixteen year old boy. The book gets a bit annoying and depressing at times, is supposed to, that's the controversy about it I guess, in 1951 the live was a little different that is know. It's above all a critic to society, it was then and it's now. I think that's why people didn't like the book at that time (and probably now), ohhh the phony people :).

(4.5 Stars)
I enjoy reading this book each time I read it. Taking something new from it each time, understanding Holden a little bit better. Understanding the way he feels, how he thinks. Brilliant read! Highly recommend to anyone who hasn't read it. ...more
