The Perks of Being a Wallflower follows the life of introvert high school freshman Charlie and the unbreakable bond he creates with two upperclassman. I admit that I watched the film version years ago but did not have much recollection of it going into the book. So naturally I was inclined to re-watch the film after I read the novel and though it was a strong adaptation it doesn’t quite capture all the same emotions that the book is able to.
