AUDIOBOOK

This is absolutely one of my new favorite classics. I fell in love instantly with the characters and needed to know how the story ended. The narration was beautifully done.

A woman is happily and newly married when she moves to her husbands estate. She’s surprised to find that he was married before, and the presence of his first dead wife lingers everywhere in the house. Wow! Why have I never read this before. I thought the book started a little slow but after a couple of chapters it became a real page turner. It kept me up late a couple of nights because I had to keep reading to see what came next. It was beautifully written and I loved that we never found out the narrator's first name. I'm giving it 5 stars for good old fasioned suspense. ...more

I read this in print for the first time several years ago and loved it. The audiobook version was also very good. As often happens when you read and book and then listen to it, different things seemed to be emphasized in the audio version which gave me an entirely different feeling for the characters.

Two women, one man, and a house.

Rebecca is a thriller, a gothic romance, a classic bestseller, and one of the most famous heroines in modern English literature. I was hooked to the end.
