HUGE READ - 925 pages.
My first Murakami book (I have Norweigian Wood in my to-read pile.) I like the author's writing style.
It is difficult to write a review because I have such conflicting feelings about the book.
Pros:
Easy to follow the story, the book is written in chapters, each from the perspective of one of the characters. The two main characters are Tengo and Aomame; several supporting characters play important roles in the story. All the characters are well developed.

I listened to the audio version of this book. Honestly, it was just too long. There were so many unnecessary details. For example, a man comes home from work so you get to hear about how he walks through the door, looks around, turns on the water, fills his tea kettle, sets the kettle on the stove, turns on the stove, opens up the refrigerator, examines the food items inside, decides what to eat, removes the items the he has chosen, carefully chops them up, removes a pan from the cupboard, place
