What Members Thought
I quickly became attached to these characters, and Mrs, Who, Whatist and Which. There is a certain air about the is book, if that makes any sense at all. I guess it's sort of like Meg trying to explain light to Aunt Beast. I thoroughly enjoyed A Wrinkle in Time. Some books you can review and go on about the book, others it's the feeling you got when reading it. While I liked this book and found the underlying science to be first rate I didn't enjoy the story as much as most seem to. I tend to like sci-fi that uses the applied sciences more.
It is a landmark work to be sure but I'm unsure what it is about this book that seemed wanting. Not long ago I read Asimov's I, Robot and found that to be much more compelling. Perhaps it's just personal taste. ...more

First read in 4th grade, and several times since then, this has lost none of its magic. It is complex and full of scientific, metaphysical, and religious philosophy and speculation. It is a book to make you think and wonder - about time and space, about good versus evil, about self-worth and what gives meaning to life. As an adult, I am especially struck by the ending. Evil is not destroyed. Evil still exists. It is about shining the light of love to keep the darkness at bay. It can be resisted
