This was a book I read again and again as a child. It has aged pretty well. I had forgotten how religious it was - it's not just an epic good v evil story but there is a lot of discussion about God who is "He". The book is better than the movie, though, and the movie has purged the religion. ...more

When I was a kid Madeleine L'Engel was my favorite. And this book really takes the cake. I'm inteneding to read it as an adult now, but I'm afraid it will loose it's charm (like the Dark Crystal or Degrasi High). Maybe someday I'll take the plunge again. ...more
