Finally! I have tried to read this for years and finally pushed through it this past month. I liked the last 100 pages, but I found it so wordy. I was annoyed by the preachiness of all the women and the selfishness of Amy and Jo (my name is Amy Jo, so I might be overly critical)They did mature throughout the book, and the ending was great. Jo’s poems were lovely.
I am wondering if this book was overhyped for me or if reading it as a child would have endeared me to it more.

Charming book and I enjoyed it. I read it 6 chapters at a time following The Mother-Daughter Book Club by Heather Vogel Frederick.
