I hadn't read this since I was a child, so when my local "Connect with the Classics" book discussion group chose it for this month, I looked forward to reading it. I wasn't disappointed. Sometimes when you read books as an adult that you read as a child they lose their magic because your perceptions have changed. I'm happy to say that the magic of Dickens never dies. Last year I listened to it by Neil Gaiman, this year Jim Dale. Both amazing! Of the two, I prefer the non-abridged audio version. Next year I'll try Tim Curry's.

Excellent full cast version, with the amazing Derek Jacobi as the narrator. I always prefer complete versions, although this one seems to have added a little bit of dialog that isn't in the original, which is weird.
