What Members Thought
I always find it difficult to rate Tolkien books. Somehow, they feel above such things. And out of all of Tolkien's epic works, this one is the most epic of all. Really more a collection of stories rather than one cohesive narrative, The Silmarillion tells tales of the creation of Middle-earth (my personal favorite of all of Tolkien's works), the forging of the Rings of Power, the Fall of Numenor, Beren and Luthien, and the tragic story of Hurin and his children.
