Where to start bringing thoughts to order on the first novel of Rachel’s new series. I’d set myself up for a deliciously entertaining read which oftentimes can be dangerous. Luckily no such thoughts sweep through my mind as I fly through this novel. (So true is this that about halfway through and already I’d given this one a 5-star rating.) Turns out, that is warranted.

I love authors whose books you can pick up knowing you're going to love. I love it even more when said author takes your already high expectations and goes soooo far beyond meeting them...which is exactly how I felt reading Once Upon a Prince. You can read a synopsis of the story elsewhere, so let me just say Rachel Hauck's signature storytelling depth is in fine form here...believable characters, wonderfully paced plot. There is something about a fairy tale that captures a deep part of my heart. The notion of leading a kingdom, royalty, and elegant balls all resonate with my imagination and leave me daydreaming in a world where nobility is a reality and true love is always found.

I enjoyed the story, the characters, and setting.
What I didn’t enjoy was having to mentally edit the many typos and, yes, even one or two small inconsistencies within the story that a good editor or proofreader should have caught and the author could have easily fixed. So I took away one star for that.
Overall, I would recommend this book if you’d like reading a sweet romance with a Christian worldview.
I read and am reviewing the Kindle edition.
