Okay, so our hero has magical semen--so magical, in fact, that it cures our heroine of her PTSD--which is pretty much all you need to know. A great book of the insta-lust, 24/7 magical sex, yet with enough plot so that it isn't PWP and likable enough characters sort to get yourself through the drudgery of the end of our republic in 2017.

tracking trends in romance novels is an interesting diversion. as a genre, they're generally intended to be popcorn - all empty calories, just fun to eat - but each style has its tropes. if this was a regency romance, it'd have someone contemplating marrying to save the family's fortunes. if it was a teen romance, there'd be a super angsty love triangle. instead, it's the start to a paranormal series, which means we get a brotherhood. actual brothers this go-a ...more

The characters really irked me. I didn't like any of them, not even a little. The world building was interesting and would have made the book more enjoyable for me if it had been a little more front-and-center instead of background for all of the drama. I really wasn't in the mood for drama. I admit it; I skimmed. A lot.
