City of the Lost tells the story of a Canadian detective who is given the opportunity to escape her past when her best friend learns of a tiny hidden town in the Yukon that accepts people who want to disappear. Detective Casey Duncan is accepted into the town, along with her friend, and is asked to work as a detective solving a series of recent murders. Another fun book, in yet another new series, from Armstrong. This one has no paranormal elements (at least, not yet...), but does feature a tiny town, deep in the Canadian wilderness, run by mysterious benefactors for unknown reasons, that offers shelter to those who need to become "lost" from the wider world. The characters and setting are compelling, and there's plenty left to explore in future books in the series.

4 1/2 stars and a great narrator

i lost interest. it's probably me. i was listening to the audiobook and when women do sore-throated male voices that all sound the same, well it's a bit annoying. i own it so i may go back to it. but THERE ARE SO MANY BOOKS.
