I loved this book ever since reading it for the first time in elementary school, and it has stayed a beloved book all through my adult life. Last summer I read it to my ten-year-old son and it's now a favorite of his. (My husband, who had never read it, also enjoyed it from the snippets of me reading it when he was nearby.) This is another old favorite that I want to re-read before I give it a rating.
Boring. Had to read it in Middle school.
I haven't read this one in a while, and was unpleasantly surprised to find that I've outgrown it, or at least didn't enjoy it as much as I remembered. I remember it as being an exciting tale of survival, but this time it read like a list of "today I did such and so."

Excellent book focuses on natural adventure. Main character face some issues related to her cultural gender expectations and her need to survive. Excellent visual imagery!!
