Holly
One of my new favorite authors. She does a nice fantasy/romance thing, but this series also has interesting theology. And her characters are distinct and likeable.

But the best part is the worldbuilding. I really feel like she knows the geography of her worlds inside and out, like it's a living breathing place that really could exist somewhere out there.

So unexpectedly good

In a world run by a spaceship and held to religious by a (genetically modified?) race of angels... a really great fantasy story (as usual) from Sharon Shinn. Strong plot, characters and really good pacing. Would recommend.

The characters were a bit frustrating, but I enjoyed how they worked through their difficulties. I understood better the antagonist's motives this time.

-I think I like this book mostly because of the male main character. That he can fly is also pretty cool.

I really enjoyed this book. (Thank you, Miriam!) It was a little startling to have so many Biblical names, yet not actually be a historical fiction novel. It was difficult to put down, and the ending

I still needed some comfort reading after Unquiet Land, so I went back to Sharon Shinn. The narrator grew on me.
