Pretty good mashup of noir detective and supernatural, like if Jim Rockford had been a wizard. Harry Dresden’s been around and seen some things, but he’s on the straight and narrow. No dark magics for Harry. If only the police, and the White Council, would believe it.
There’s a pretty client who’s not telling Harry the truth, a series of magical murders Harry needs to solve before the police decide he’s the culprit, and a sultry reporter who wants more than just a story from Harry.

This one got me hooked on the series. I love Harry Dresden, "Saving the world one random act of destruction at a time." This is actually one of the weakest books in the series; they just keep getting better.
