This seemed a bit slower to read than last time, but still interesting.
Review from June 9, 2008 (updated in 2013?):
I very much enjoyed this book. It seems more in the line of Mercedes Lackey than Tolkein, as the blurb on the back said, but I enjoyed the characters, world, and plot, and hope to find the next book in the Pellinor set as good.

I've always thought that people who said, "You're not Tolkien. Don't try." were kind of being jackasses. But ... this book made me want to say that. Mostly because of the introduction.
