Ladies and gentlemen if you are fans of the Spanish proverb "there is no fifth bad" (because so far it is the number of books that so far he carried in Goodreads), despite his wisdom was not fulfilled in this case. I didn't have very good references to D.H. Lawrence, but reading this book has been infinitely worse than I thought at first. I can appreciate the literary significance of this novel, and it was a decent read, but the story doesn't resonate with me. There are many better scandalous affair novels, if that's what you are looking for. This was just quite demeaning to women and I didn't appreciate Lawrence's opinions on women's sexuality and male dominance. The sex scenes were also written like a man that was trying to write for a women but completely missed the mark. ...more
