This is such a fast paced book and it definitely got my out of my reading slump.
While I didnt think the plot was mind-blowing or anything, it kept me surprised and there were a lot of elements in the plot that were really original. (But I havent read that many thrillers so who knows?)
I absolutely loved the character of the criminal mastermind of this book, he was just so disturbing and suspenseful and I loved that element of the story.

I read this a long time ago during a Christmas vacation at my dad's place. My stepmother is still a big fan of James Patterson. Patterson's writing style works for murder-mystery and this was a classic of his early work. Tightly-woven story, Alex Cross at his most mercurial detective work, and a brisk pace that kept the story moving.
