Rereading this in 2020 and realizing I've somehow never shelved it. Kelley Armstrong is one of my true favorites. Her character-driven (adult) stories are set in such interesting, well-built worlds. Her romances and heroes get me every time. This book/series is certainly not perfect and it can move a bit slowly at times, but overall it works for me. ...more

My sister recommended this series, and I enjoyed the first installment. I'd rate it PG 13 for language. I like that it wrapped up the main mystery, so a reader could satisfactorily stop here, but there is plenty of mysterious goings-on to make you want to read on. Read on, I will! ...more
