Oh. My. Goodness. Gracious. Me.
Julie Kagawa is one fine story teller!
Sometimes the middle book in a trilogy can be, well, not quite as good as the first or last in the series. That is decidedly not the case here. Now that the reader knows all the main players in the story, this book takes us further into the quest for trying to save Kanin, as well as everyone else. Literally, everyone else on the planet, human and vampire.
You will laugh, and you will cry, and you will come to the end of this boo ...more

This has to be one of the best series that I have read in a while, its amazing!
This book was full of twists and turns, ups and downs and basically a lot of feels. Julie Kagawa has you laughing one moment then a couple of minutes later has you sitting there with your mouth hanging wide open. Although this is a mix of the two most popular YA genres - both dystopian and Vampire fantasy - the story line was refreshing and i felt like i hadn't read a story like this before. The vampires aren't being ...more

"Only death will take me away from you, vampire girl," he whispered. "And even then, I'll watch over you from wherever I end up."
I was planning on doing a proper review. Frankly, this book deserved that much. But the ending? Forget about it. I'm going to vent. No one's stopping me. EVER.
This book is definitely NOT for the faint-hearted. As much as I hate to admit, I felt lightheaded several times reading this because I FREAKING FORGOT TO BREATHE. Considered yourself warned.
I have decided: Julie ...more

Julie Kagawa, never disappoints this reader. She once again wrote a beautifully visual novel that had me enthralled with every page. It is a treat to read her words.
This the second book in her Blood of Eden series, takes us back into her world of cruel vampires and herded humans. Allie was turned in the last book by a dark and mysterious vampire, Kanin. He has been taken by one of the most ruthless and crazy of vampires. he is being tortured and does not have long. through their bond she can fee ...more

I actually liked this one better than the first. Allie felt much more developed as a character, and honestly, I found her a little annoying in the first book. But she really came into her own, and her motivations and conflicts felt more solid and realistic. There was sometimes too much repetition in some of the wording/descriptions but the writing was tighter on a whole. And I liked that Kanin got more "screen time",but I would have liked a little more impact from his back story. It seemed to be
